11 Ways to Boost Your Brain Power, Memory, and Motivation

How do you keep yourself motivated? We all want to make the most of our time and do more of the activities we enjoy, yet we sometimes get caught up in the “getting ready” process.

Every day, we want to live with the distinct objective of getting closer to our goals and living a happy, successful life. Every day, we desire to improve, but we never take the first step.

Self-motivation is the most powerful source of motivation. You have the ability to start your own fire.

It is not enough to just wait for inspiration to motivate you to take action. It doesn’t have to be something that occurs to you; it can also be something you make.

Taking action is the foundation of all progress and drive. It is inevitable that one action will lead to another. You will have better outcomes and different experiences if you take action.

When one of my coaching clients gets distracted, I simply ask them to begin taking action. to become energized to carry out a specific task

Getting up earlier or committing to daily exercise are examples of this. Even if it’s only for 5 minutes, that little push is typically enough to get them started.

It can have a huge impact on your business and life if you focus on a small number of items to make the change you want.

Here are 11 things you can do right now to make that leap and begin the process of expanding your business.

1. Simplify Your Life

It is possible to simplify your life by arranging it creatively. Delegating and removing things that do not motivate or excite you ensures that you get the most out of your time and that your energy is focused on reaching your objectives.

When your mind is clogged with all of the projects and chores you need to complete, it’s difficult to stay motivated. Your life will become more concentrated if you can simplify if you can chisel away the useless. And more attention equals increased motivation.

What areas of your life could you simplify?

Combining tasks is one way to go about it. Consider two activities you’d like to do and how you could combine them into one.

In her book Brain Building in Just 12 Weeks, author Marilyn Vos Savant takes this a step further. She suggests that we prepare a list of all the tiny tasks that need to be completed throughout the course of a day or weekend, and then complete them one by one.

Essentially, you’re combining a number of little activities into a single task and finishing it all at once. Rather than accomplishing one work one day and another the next, it becomes a targeted blitz to do a large number of small tasks all at once.

This offers us more time and a sense of accomplishment.

2. Focus on How Far You’ve Come

We judge our success not by how far we’ve come, but by how distant we are from our ambitions and ideals, which is one of the things that keeps us from being motivated and creates procrastination.

We can set ourselves up for success if we can shift our thinking and become more aware of how our brain works.

When we utilize our minds to problem solve, visualize, achieve, and track our progress, we are typically at our happiest.

It is possible to feel happier and more invigorated if you speak in particular rather than generalities.

One approach to achieve this is to begin teaching your brain to measure specifics, which can help you feel more grounded and motivated.

Consider what you’ve accomplished from a certain starting place rather than focused on your goal.

If your objective is to drop 14 pounds in the next six months and you’ve already lost three pounds, you have two options. You might focus on the fact that you’re still 11 pounds away from your target, or you could concentrate on the fact that you’ve already lost 3 pounds.

The second option allows you to enjoy your accomplishments and concentrate your concentration on losing more weight, whereas the first option may cause you to focus on how far away you are from your goals.

Allow your brain to create its own goals and experiences.

3. Set Measurable Goals

This is a natural extension of the previous point. We always create concrete, quantifiable 90-day goals when I work with coaching clients.

This is excellent for motivation and training the brain to concentrate primarily on precise and quantifiable goals.

It makes us feel a lot better when we are making meaningful progress toward our objectives. We are energized and enthused.

We all have a feeling of where we are right now. The past has passed us by, and the future, well, it’s the future.

We either feel like we’re making progress and going forward in the correct way right now, or we don’t. We can’t go back in time. We can only improve our time management.

If you’re unhappy with your development, you could start comparing yourself to others, which can make you feel even worse and stifle drive.

So, think about what you’d like to do in the next 90 days. Consider the meaning and purpose of each of the objectives.

Make a list of your objectives. Put specific metrics next to each goal and visualize what completing the goals will mean for your personal development.

4. Shift Your Motivation from Getting to Giving

Some people are just concerned with what they can gain from their lives and relationships. Everything revolves around me, me, and me.

Your perspective can transition from receiving to giving if you come from a place of serving and assisting others, as well as being more consciously aware of the world around you.

And as you make this transition, coming from a place of giving, your brain begins to think of new and inventive ways to disseminate even more riches.

Focusing on giving is significantly more gratifying. If you put your mind to it, it can become your ultimate purpose and focus.

Rather than focusing on simple transactions, you concentrate on building stronger relationships and doing things that actually make people happy.

Your motivational energy will always be high if you focus on giving and thankfulness and surround yourself with individuals who share your values.

There are also some other advantages. Because everything has the potential to be multiplied, when givers gather together, the outcomes can be far greater than on an individual basis.

When you’re motivated to give, your brain will come up with new and inventive ways to do it. Random concepts will enter your mind, and you’ll come up with new ways to help others in both your professional and personal life.

5. Create and Repeat a New Habit

The tiniest changes can sometimes provide the most significant outcomes. Consistency and repetition are crucial when starting a new habit, whether it’s going to the gym, making videos, or improving your speaking skills.

Your brain creates new pathways that let you make incremental improvements by trying something new over and over again.

The key to establishing a new morning habit is repetition. If you want to begin meditating, the most important thing is to stick with it. If you’re training for a 5k, the most important thing is to run every day and build up your strength and stamina.

If you have a mental image of yourself as someone who doesn’t finish projects, it’s time to change that.

When you imagine yourself in that role. If you tell yourself every day that you’re a world-class “project completer,” you’ll start thinking and acting like that person.

Start small and do something to bring the project along, even if it’s only for five minutes if you’re procrastinating on a major job. Work on that project again the next day.

The trick is to figure out what you want to improve on and then work on it every day. A 1% improvement per day can add up to substantial effects in the long run.

6. Direct Your Subconscious Mind Before Sleep

Many successful people make a request to their subconscious mind before going to sleep.

Your brain is an incredible instrument for addressing problems. If you’re having trouble making a decision or need help with a project, take a few minutes before going to bed to visualize the obstacles, ideas, questions, and experiences.

You can use a similar method to achieve your objectives. Every night, picture your goals and what they will look like when you achieve them.

The subconscious mind will then get to work, forming new connections and thoughts. Write down everything that occurs to mind as you wake up, and then put it into action.

7. Focus on Your Environment

The individuals you spend time with will influence your life in some way. Surround yourself with people and things that will help you succeed in your business and in your personal life.

Cynics can drag you down, while positive people will inspire you to be even happier and more successful.

We have choices about what we spend our time on and who we spend it with every day.

You can surround yourself with individuals who limit your creativity and deplete your energy, or you can surround yourself with people who stimulate your creativity and celebrate your achievement.

See where spending more time with people who make you feel more alive and happy leads you.

8. Express More Gratitude

The impact of coming from a place of thankfulness, both for what you have and for the people around you, may be enormous.

You are less envious and preoccupied with what other people have if you express thankfulness for what you have.

When you express thanks to the people that matter most to you, it affects how you see them and how they see you.

Gratitude boosts your vitality and makes you feel more prosperous. Everything is valued when thankfulness is present.

Gratitude also boosts your creativity and boosts your motivation. Handwritten notes, more expressive feelings, and quick notes or phone calls to those who mean most become the norm.

Gratitude, on the other hand, necessitates an active pursuit in all aspects of your business and life. It doesn’t matter what they’ve done for you. It’s all about how you feel about them and how much they mean to you.

Here’s a brief activity to get you started:

  • Consider the individuals in your life who are most important to you.
  • Next, jot down five things you admire or are grateful for about that person.
  • You have the option of telling them the five things or keeping it to yourself and observing how you interact with them the next time you meet.
  • You are another key focus for thankfulness. What do you have to be thankful for today?
  • Taking the time to look inward and appreciate what you’ve accomplished has given you momentum and motivation.

9. Increase Your Energy

The ability to generate energy is a powerful incentive. We are normally tremendously motivated when we are fired up or enthused about someone or something.

Consider the last time you accomplished something significant. I’m presuming your motivation and energy levels were high?

Your enthusiasm will be sky high if you’ve smashed your best time on the track, lost the weight you wanted, or won a major piece of business, and you’ll want to plunge back in to improve your prior performance.

When we are enthusiastic and passionate about what we are doing, we exude a lot of energy.

High levels of energy produce continual growth and give you higher levels of confidence.

Try this:

  • Choose three things that make you feel energized and motivated. Every month, commit to spending at least one hour more on each of the above.
  • Take a look at what you can accomplish. If you get the outcomes you desire, spend more time on those three things and less time on the three things you don’t want to spend time on.

10. Visualize Your Ideal Future

If you’re having trouble staying motivated, consider the purpose of what you’re doing or how it fits into the bigger picture of what you want to achieve.

Starting to think bigger and then challenging yourself to think bigger and bigger about the image of your perfect future is a terrific method to boost your brain capacity and motivation.

Where do you want to be in three or five years? What is the larger aim of your company and life? What would have to happen in order for you to be satisfied with your progress?

The ability to produce energy is a strong motivator. When we are fired up or thrilled about someone or something, we are usually extremely motivated.

Consider the last time you completed an important task. I’m assuming you had a lot of motivation and energy?

If you’ve crushed your personal best time on the track, lost the weight you wanted, or won a significant business deal, your enthusiasm will be sky high, and you’ll want to dive back in to improve your previous performance.

We exude a lot of energy when we are eager and passionate about what we are doing.

11. Take More Actions

If you’ve been putting off tackling a significant project at home or at work for a time, everything else in your life may begin to suffer.

Sometimes you just have to face your fears and opposition and accomplish the thing you’ve been putting off. That one thing could have a significant impact on your life.

We all have a lot on our plates, and it’s easy to become overwhelmed by the chores ahead of us.

The idea is to prioritize so that we may make the most of our time and to create an internal commitment to just beginning.

One of my clients was on the verge of finishing a new online course, but there were a few things she was putting off. It was very easy for her to postpone taking action by filling her time with social media updates, flashy new stuff, and checking out what her competitors were up to. She was aware that she was ignoring something critical to her personal ambitions and deferring crucial tasks.

I convinced her to devote half an hour at the start of each day for a week to this endeavor. As her enthusiasm and motivation grew, so did the quantity of time.

By simply coming back to work and performing the work, she felt more energized and inspired. This enhanced vigor also has an impact.

She felt more in control and knew she would succeed. Just by taking one small step and getting started.
