How to Invest in Your Creative Side to Find Your Magic

Fulfilling The Creative Call

If you had to rate how often you let your creative side lead you in life, what would your score be?

Little or not at all?

Here and there?

Or do you let your creativity run wild?

Most people end up in the first two categories, despite how creative they might be at heart. Life gets in the way; sometimes, it’s easier to go with the flow than try something new.

No matter where you rate your creative expression now, you have the power to lead a more creative life!

Tapping into creativity opens up a super portal to intuition, abstract thought, and curiosity.

Nurture Your Creative Side

Showing up to nurture your creative side pays off.

Here are some key benefits:

  • Creativity knows no ends, so you’re never without a challenge or opportunity to try something new.
  • You learn that perfection and creativity can’t exist together and that perfectionism is toxic to self-expression.
  • Creativity enforces that there are no right answers and no wrong ways to explore.
  • Creativity flows best when you channel it thru open energy that comes from a place of “yes.”
  • When you pursue creativity, you’ll become naturally drawn to and aware of all the creative, inspiring women around you.
  • Creativity is an amazingly productive outlet; a creative flow can feel like a therapy purge—cleansing and worthwhile.

I know from experience that it’s not easy to wake up one day and decide to be more creative – just like that. Living a life inspired by the magical abstract is made up of a combination of habits, desires, action plans, and good intentions.

If you don’t know where to start or want to amplify the creativity you do express, baby steps are always a good idea.

Let’s go over a few ways you can dive into self-expression and exploration to give your creative side the space to thrive!

Shake Off The Dust, Make Room For Magic

A friend recently introduced me to CreativeLive, an online space for experts in the arts, writing, business, crafts, fine art, and other creative industries to share their knowledge with people like you and me.

I took a “positivity mindset” course through CreativeLive and it helped me reroute my negative thoughts so I could be more productive. From cake decorating to newborn photography to entrepreneurship, this website has a class for every creative.

I highly recommend visiting their platform to build out an existing creative skill or try out something new.

Take A Quick Creative Assessment

One way to start investing in your creative side is to see where you tend to be creative in your life already. If you haven’t yet, download my free intro guide to creative and intentional living.

This booklet details exactly why creativity (and intentionality) are crucial to a fulfilled, sustainable, joy-filled life.

Plus, you’ll answer a series of questions that will help you define how much you lead with your creative side and where you can improve. The last page is full of resources to inspire you and set your magic into motion!

Tap Into Women’s Creative Communities

There’s no better way to get inspired than to witness the power of creativity in others. Find niche social groups online (like IG or Facebook) to come together with female makers and creators no matter where you are.

This gorgeous coffee table book has moved me to get artsy every time I’ve opened it. You’ll love the stories of how and when each woman decided to pursue creativity and the amazing journeys they’ve had since. This book is so inspiring!

The key to unlocking creativity in your life is to open yourself up to discovery. Make space for the unknown, the abstract, and curiosity. Be mindful of opportunities to do something different or try something new.

Introduce a little more creativity into your life day after day, and lean into what feels right!
