Lasith Malinga appointed as bowling strategy coach

Former Sri Lankan bowler Lasith Malinga has been named as the bowling strategy coach for the upcoming tour to Australia.

According to a press release published by SLC, Malinga will support Sri Lanka’s bowlers by providing tactical insight and technical talents to aid the on-field execution of strategic aims.

The 38-year-old has previously worked as a mentor with the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League. “We have some really bright young bowlers,” Malinga said after his appointment. “I am extremely enthusiastic about the opportunity to offer my expertise and skills to help them progress.”

In the wake of Mickey Arthur’s departure, Rumesh Ratnayake will serve as the team’s interim head coach.

In five Twenty20 Internationals, Sri Lanka will face Australia. The first Twenty20 International will be contested on February 11th.
