How Much Is Insurance On A Hellcat?

Hellcat: How Fast Do You Want to Go?

If you’re thinking about purchasing a Dodge Charger sedan, Challenger coupe, or Ram 1500 pickup truck that has an engine known as a “Hellcat,” then you should be asking yourself that question. These cars adhere to the traditional muscle car design philosophy from the 1960s and 1970s. They cram the biggest, most potent engine that will fit under the hood into a regular car. Then, in order to manage the added power, the steering, suspension, and brakes are updated.

The 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine with the aptly dubbed Hellcat produces more than 700 horsepower. It produces 807 galloping horsepower in its most powerful configuration, the Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock coupe.

The Hellcat engine comes standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission in every vehicle. Only the most skilled drivers on a closed circuit will ever come close to exploring all of a Hellcat’s potential power, but the thrill of accelerating onto a highway on-ramp at full throttle never gets old.

Unfortunately, the Hellcat’s days are probably numbered for fans. Federal regulations governing emissions and fuel efficiency are being tightened, and the auto industry is preparing for an electrified future. Here is a quick list of the 2022 model-year vehicles that can still be equipped with a powerful Hellcat engine. The suggested retail price for each variant is listed below (MSRP).

While you still have the chance, get one, but bear in mind that great (horse) strength also comes with enormous responsibility.

Three trims, up to 797 horsepower for the Dodge Charger Hellcat

The full-size rear-wheel drive Dodge Charger sedan is transformed into a true muscle vehicle with the supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat V8, although it prefers to travel quickly straight ahead rather than tackling rapid switchback corners.

Exclusive to the Charger Hellcat lineup is the “Widebody” trim. This also has built-in rear fender flares that increase the width by 3.5 inches to enable larger wheels and tires. The carmaker claims that the SRT Hellcat Redeye model has the largest factory supercharger of any production vehicle.

For enhanced personalization, a brand-new Jailbreak trim for 2022 adds a variety of color and feature options.

Six trims, up to 807 horsepower, Dodge Challenger Hellcat

The rear-wheel-drive Dodge Challenger pays homage to the original model from the early 1970s with retro aesthetic cues. With a big back seat and a large trunk, it’s one of the most useful sports cars on the road.

Dodge provides the Challenger Hellcat with three different levels of power. In addition to the Charger’s 717- and 797-horsepower models, the Challenger features an outstanding Hellcat V8 with 807 horses.

Models with this engine can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.25 seconds, but they are also outfitted and tuned more for drag racing than for daily driving. While a widebody layout is an option on the SRT Hellcat and Redeye trims, it comes standard on the Super Stock Challenger.

Ram 1500 TRX: 702 Horsepower

Although it isn’t specifically referred to as a Hellcat model, the full-size Ram 1500 pickup truck’s TRX trim level comes equipped with a unique 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine. It is only installed beneath the hood of a full-size pickup truck here.

The Ram 1500’s Hellcat V8 turns it into a dune-hopping off-road race truck with standard four-wheel drive.

It essentially serves as Ram’s response to the Ford F-150 Raptor. It has large 35-inch all-terrain tires, flared fenders, LED lights mounted on the hood scoop, and particular Bilstein shocks. With a thirsty 10 mpg in the city and 14 mpg on the highway, the Hellcat V8 can accelerate this large, hefty truck to 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds.
